Today was the second day of the festival, and once again nothing went as planned. But I have learned that is not always a bad thing. I went to see a movie around 12:30 called Masculine Feminine. That was a tough one to stay awake in. After that film, we ran into George Clooney, Jodie Foster, and Julia Roberts! It was amazing to see them in person! Our next form of action was to go to the pavilion quickly then head back on the train. We were going to get dressed to beg for the Money Monster premiere. So we headed to the American Pavilion just with the intention of getting our badges then leaving. When we arrived, we saw some other group members there and decided to skip the begging, grab some lunch, and catch a vampire movie. The film was called Manhattan Undying, and it was just brutal. Nothing made sense, yet it all made sense. Either way it was hard to sit through.
After the vampire movie, we went back to the American pavilion for a cocktail party. This was the best part of the evening. We had some free drinks and delicious finger foods. I even got to see John Travolta! However, my favourite part was meeting a woman by the name of Alex Maddison. She was extremely nice, funny, and beautiful. She was there because her boyfriend is a director, but she was quite interesting herself. She works as a lawyer for Google! She has traveled over 100 countries, and was best friends with the singer from Coldplay. She is absolutely marvellous. We talked for hours and she introduced me to her boyfriend. I had a great time speaking with her. After a couple of hours at the party we left to see the final film of the day, Staying Vertical. This was an incredibly awkward film to watch. It had way too much nudity and sex, but it was still intriguing. The story had many metaphors and some great acting. It was defiantly the strangest film I have ever seen, and that is how I got to end my second day at this amazing festival.
Sounds like you got into the swiNg of thing fast!
